Craftsman Electric is a family-owned business. My name is Dale Welch. I grew up here in Portland, Oregon. I graduated from Centennial High School and attended the NECA/IBEW Training Center, where I completed a 5-year apprenticeship program and over 8,000 hours of on-the-job training. I obtained my journeyman license and spent the next 20 years working for electrical shops across the Portland area.

During that time, I met the love of my life, Kelly, and together we raised our three children. In 2016, I decided to branch out on my own and started Craftsman Electric. For most of that time, we have been providing electrical service and project work throughout the Portland Metropolitan area. After taking a short break during COVID to reorganize, we are back and fully operational.

My name is Matt Applegate, and I am the second owner of Craftsman Electric. I grew up in Sandy, Oregon. I attended the NECA/IBEW Training Center where I completed a 5-year apprenticeship and earned my journeyman’s license.

During that time, I married a wonderful woman, and we now have two beautiful children. I take great pride in my work, and it is an honor to be part of a company that operates with integrity and excellence. I’m excited to bring new ideas, positive direction, and a willingness to embrace challenges and problem-solve difficult situations.
